We are fighting the leading cause of cancer deaths—and making an impact!
Since 2002, the rate of deaths from lung cancer has declined by 51% for men and 26% for women.
And it continues to drop, thanks to new research and advanced treatments.
As a lung cancer foundation started by a medical oncologist, the Pittsburgh Lung Cancer Cure Foundation is not just a research institution or advocacy group—we’re a community of lung cancer patients and the health professionals who serve them.
We are here to help support your fight against lung cancer and become part of the upswing in survival rates—because no one should have to face lung cancer alone.

Every day we are spreading awareness, conducting research into innovative treatments, and advocating for early detection methods such as low-dose CT scans to help patients get the care they need as soon, and as comfortably, as possible.

We are battling the leading cause of cancer deaths—let’s fight to win together!
We’re fighting to:
Raise awareness about the #1 cancer killer
Did you know that
… the incidence of lung cancer in people who have never smoked continues to rise?
….the risk of lung cancer persists even after a person stops smoking?
…low-dose CT scans lead to earlier diagnoses and better outcomes—but are underutilized nationwide?
Secure research funding
Investment in researching a cure for lung cancer is woefully inadequate—despite its ranking as the leading cause of cancer deaths.
Support lung cancer patients
We aim to remove the stigma long associated with the disease and provide a caring community of medical professionals and fellow patients.
